    Routes Connecting Communities based in Sutton West in Georgina is a growing York Region based not-for-profit organization dedicated to helping people on their journeys in life. We improve access to basic needs, enhance community engagement and improve social connections.

    Start Date: Monday May 12, 2025 
    End Date: Friday August 29, 2025
    Compensation: $17.20 per hour, 35-hours/ week
    Hours: 8:30 – 4:30 p.m. with evenings and weekends as required. Hybrid (Combination of reporting to the Sutton office, working from home and community outreach) 

    Position Details: Reporting to the Volunteers and Community Outreach Coordinator the Program Assistant, Community Programs will support the overall program coordination and administration for services at Routes Connecting Communities. Additionally, the successful candidate’s primary activities will take place within rural areas and communities across York Region with their primary reporting office located in Sutton, Ontario.

    Primary Responsibilities associated with the role are:
    • Support a team of 180 volunteers to access information and opportunities
    • Assist is the maintenance and transition of current volunteer and client database (Alayacare)
    • Administer and evaluate satisfaction surveys
    • Assist with volunteer recruitment and onboarding
    • Assist in the development of and promotion of fundraising activities
    • Assist in the planning and implementation of outreach activities, engaging community members
    • Assist in program delivery, scheduling, coordination and promotion
    • Assist in various program evaluations to identify community impact
    • Perform clerical duties including filing, photocopying, social media content creation, etc.

    Education, Skills and Requirements 
    • Must be enrolled in an accredited post secondary program at a community college or university
    • Self-starter with the ability to work independently
    • Good working knowledge of MS Office programs & computer software programs
    • Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle
    • Evening & weekend work as required by program and outreach opportunities
    • Completion of a Vulnerable Sector Police Check
